## Introduction
Cruising has long been associated with traditional, family-friendly experiences that cater to a wide range of passengers. However, enterprising entrepreneur Richard Branson had a different vision in mind when he introduced Virgin Voyages. This new cruise line aims to shake up the industry and appeal to a more adventurous and unconventional market. With its adult-only environment, unique onboard entertainment, and unconventional dining experiences, Virgin Voyages pushes the boundaries of what cruising is traditionally known for. But does it go too far?
## Virgin Voyages: Breaking the Mold of Traditional Cruise Lines
Virgin Voyages sets itself apart from other cruise lines by focusing on the desires and preferences of a specific target audience – adults looking for a more liberating and exciting vacation. By eliminating the presence of children, Virgin Voyages ensures an environment that is free from restrictions and tailored specifically for adults. This decision allows the cruise line to explore edgier themes and create experiences that might not be suitable for families or conservative travelers.
## Adult-Only Environment: Liberating or Limiting?
The absence of children on board Virgin Voyages ships brings a sense of liberation to those seeking an adults-only getaway. This demographic appreciates the peace and relaxation that comes with a child-free vacation environment. However, it is worth considering that by targeting only adults, Virgin Voyages might alienate potential cruisers who prefer a more family-oriented experience. The decision to exclude children ultimately limits the cruise line’s appeal to a niche market.
## The Scarlet Lady: A Ship Unlike Any Other
Virgin Voyages’ flagship, the Scarlet Lady, is a vessel that breaks the mold and challenges the conventions of cruise ship design. Every aspect of the ship’s interiors, from the cabins to the public spaces, exudes a bold and contemporary aesthetic. The Scarlet Lady boasts unique features, including a tattoo parlor, a record shop, and even a vinyl DJ booth. This ship is a floating playground for adults to indulge in their passions, providing a novel experience that is certainly not suitable for everyone.
## Let Loose with the Onboard Entertainment and Activities
Virgin Voyages aims to keep its cruisers entertained with a dazzling array of activities and performances. From daring aerial shows to immersive theater experiences, guests are provided with entertainment options that are far from conventional. The cruise line also offers exclusive themed parties, such as its glamorous “Drag Brunch” and “Late-Night Neon Parties,” which add an extra touch of excitement and risqué fun to the onboard experience.
## The Dining Experience: From Gourmet to Informal
Virgin Voyages embraces culinary excellence by offering a variety of world-class dining options on board. Guests can savor meals at specialty restaurants curated by renowned chefs, exploring a range of global cuisines. Moreover, the cruise line introduces a non-traditional approach to dining by eliminating set dining times and dress codes, allowing individuals to enjoy their meals whenever and wherever they desire. Whether guests want a gourmet dining experience or a casual bite, Virgin Voyages caters to a variety of preferences.
## Service with a Twist: The Crew Culture
Virgin Voyages prides itself on providing exceptional service while challenging the norms of traditional cruise line crew interactions. The crew members, known as “Rockstars,” are encouraged to express their personalities and connect with guests on a more personal level. This unique approach aims to create a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, where guests feel a sense of camaraderie and authenticity with the crew. However, some cruisers may prefer a more formal and impersonal service, making Virgin Voyages’ approach an acquired taste.
## Is Virgin Too Risqué for Families or Solo Travelers?
Virgin Voyages’ adult-only concept clearly excludes families with children. For families seeking a traditional cruise experience, this could be a limiting factor. However, solo travelers could find solace and enjoyment in the liberating environment provided by Virgin Voyages. The cruise line offers various accommodations, including solo cabins, which cater specifically to the needs of individual travelers. Solo cruisers can enjoy the freedom to explore and partake in activities without the need for companionship, making Virgin Voyages an attractive option for those seeking a unique solo adventure.
## Conclusion
Virgin Voyages aims to push the boundaries and challenge the conventions of traditional cruising by targeting a niche market of adventurous adults seeking a thrilling and unconventional vacation experience. While this approach may seem risqué and too edgy for the average cruiser, it undoubtedly appeals to a specific audience looking for a liberating and freeing holiday. By prioritizing adult-oriented entertainment, dining, and amenities, Virgin Voyages succeeds in catering to a unique segment of the market. So, is Virgin Voyages too risqué for most cruisers? Perhaps, but for those seeking a cruise like no other, Virgin Voyages could be the perfect match.

After two cruises with Royal Caribbean, I’d give Virgin a shot. I was a little disappointed with my last trip.
C3 says
Well it's better than Holland America in which the most active level onboard ship is the morgue…. although they do offer specials for veterans of the Spanish American war :p
You Tube says
can crew members date the guests on Virgin?
AlienLifeForm says
Gotta Love that red Sex Swing in your balcony. Did you use it? How was it? Did it live up to how they’re advertised?
blaster 0416 says
Yup that is pretty much what I expected. The big draw is not having someone else’s kids spoiling your vacation.
And they do one more thing I thought of years ago. Why not have a program where you can get off the ship and stay at one of the islands and get back on the ship when it comes back a week later? Virgin does that with their private island!!!
Bob Johnson says
We sailed our of Barcelona on Virgin in June of 2022. Honestly, other than we didn't see any kids, I didn't think it was much different than any other cruise line we have sailed, and we sail about twice a year. We've done some pretty wild private charter cruises, and this was nothing like those. Unless you're just a real prude, I don't think anyone would have a problem with the shows and atmosphere on the ship.
labadee says
virgin is like carnival cruise on steroids (in a bad way). super trashy.
Gebron Thomasson says
I hope it is risqué like you hear..there needs to be an adult only cruise that is geared this way.

Upside down pineapple means swingers party. Basically wife and husband swapping.
The Moonlight Adventures says
Thank you for this honest review! I wondered how Virgin would stack up for a married couple that aren’t necessarily the party type.

Went once, will never go Virgin again!
Bill SFO says
Virgin Voyages is The Only Cruise I’d ever take. Love Virgin Atlantic Airlines. Really loved Virgin America. Met Richard Branson twice. Love all things Virgin. Course I go to Burning Man as well. Your critique seems squeaky clean, Are you a Sunday School teacher? 🎉
Jerry Hart says
I’ve never been on a cruise. What is the deal with the upside down pineapple it’s playing that.
Michael Montalto says
Upside down pineapple's everywhere.

Thank you again for doing such an informative and detailed video! Our friends want to go on a couples cruise and they picked out Virgin. I'm loyal to my Royal Caribbean and feared that Virgins since it's adults only would, would be a Lil risqué for me. But thanks to your video i think i might be comfortable enough to go. Since you said that they have toned it down from how it used to be before, and it's not like there are a bunch of naked ppl. We have kids and it would be a refresher to enjoy sone time alone without kids.
Tony Poole says
Have you heard the news? There is a new cruise ship company called "Red, White and Blue". They allow you to bring firearms on board. Instead of bingo or general activities, there are bible studies instead. Instead of healthy, nutritious wholesome designer cuisine, there is heavily processed food. Instead of theatre broadway style shows, they encourage guests to stand on stage and make a group virginity pledge, and non virgins to agree to only have sex in the traditional missionary position, and only in the dark. They ask guests to bring any left over Christmas crackers so the clean, wholesome jokes inside can be used for the stand up comedy shows. In the main dining room and buffet, talking loudly and being offended by something every 5 minutes and engaging people you've just met into your opinions views and ideology is heavily encouraged. Lacking basic knowledge about geography and place names is encouraged as well. Instead of Family Feud or Hasbro the game show, there is a new game show called "Culture Wars"…………and the name of this ship? – "Entitlement of the Seas"😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Mike says
With the exception of no kids under eighteen, it looks like any other cruise to me. Did not see anything in your video even close to being 'adult' oriented.
Andrew and Megan - Indefinite Travel says
Great review! We just took our first Virgin cruise on the Resilient Lady and really enjoyed it.
We agree that it can really be for all ages. Megan and I were often going to bed early bc we were exhausted from all the day activities, but never heard anyone after 10 or 11pm.
Overall 10/10 cruise!

I went to valiant lady and there were too many gay men and it was disturbing when they started wearing reveling clothes like things and bdsm vests and other disturbing acts. Other than that it was enjoyable and the food great! But we will not be going again for that reason i mentioned

Yeah a vacation watching drag queens, not my cup of tea.
Adam Lee says
im trying be nice …. but i can't. you are very bad at this.
Brother Ted says
At least for me, it’s less about clean vs. raunchy — it’s more about low class vs. classy.
People can be obnoxious and rude without any sexually raunchy aspect at all, and that makes for an awful cruise group — just as someone can be flirty and damn near naked, but if they handle themselves with taste & intelligence… what’s the problem?
I think the “raunchy” most of us fear on cruises is when it’s loud & dumb. 😎
JRCinKY says
Pure Hype. The swimwear shown In. This video isn't even c!odd to the last Carnival cruise I was on. Nothing left to the imagination for sure. But it would be nice to get away from all the children causing havoc.
Karen S. Goldfarb says
The worst cruise ever. OMG I hated the boat and it was like a freak show. The shows was all about DRAG and Tucking. The boat configuration is terrible.
Brian Garrigan says
So what happens if you have an upside-down pineapple on your door? People will knock looking for sex?!
William Jandrisevits says
👍
Charles Conroy says
Who were you cruising with? Husband & Son?
Levi Olin says
I love a takko on a corn tor tilla
Joy Kruczay says
Have seen upside down pineapples on doors on Carnival cruise lines. They state, "plays well with others." Will avoid those!
THE GRUMPY DRAGON says
I wanted to cruise with virgin but
they didn’t have an auss cruise so
Carnival it is
DoctorBohr says
Not many virgins on that cruise…..
Dam Pasta says
My girlfriend talked me into going on one of these pre pandemic. All I am going to say is these adult cruises are floating sperm dumpsters, and while Im no way against sex, Im just not into spending 7 days in sticky floors and the smell of sperm in the air all the time
Thecheekclapper says
For this pajama party, I sleep naked so is that how show up?
Andrea Griffiths says
I’m sailing solo over Christmas on RL and the main reason I’m doing so is the solo cabin. I’m not a party person and I’m not one for being up (in public) all night. But a cruise is what you make it, so I’m sure it’ll be lovely no matter the cruise line.
Joe the Computerguy says
More risque the better IMO. But Virgin is def NOT even close.
Larry Hudson says
Wish I had gone on Virgin instead of Royal last cruise!
river visual says
We've sailed twice on VV. I highly recommend it! It's not raunchy at all.
miniprepper says
Funny. The clientele never looks like the Love Boat's.
NoLimitFlorida says
Great review! Going 4/2024 and can not wait. I feel like this ship is for adults who live life a little outside the box and go out of their own comfort zone. It's all adults people, you have nothing to hide. I don't think I'll be a regular on Virgin but am excited to see everything!
Scott Lara says
My daughter and son in law just sailed on VV. Loved it, but yes a little wild!
